The Monticello Reservoir was created in 1978, originally for the purpose of getting water the Virgil C. Summer Nuclear Generating Station; the reservoir also sits adjacent to the Broad River. The reservoir flows directly into Parr Reservoir. There are a couple of islands that you will pass by on this adventure. This is a good fishing lake too with a variety of species including a variety of bass species; it is also stocked with Bluegill and Redear Sunfish.
